Quite the opposite of inspirational.

Winter is coming

There are always two ways of looking at things. The two ways of looking at one having succumbed to temptations are: worth it, or not worth it.

With the intention of buying a long overdue birthday gift (a book) for a friend, I came out of a bookstore with a box set for her and another for me – different series, of course.

I was introduced to the series Game of Thrones by a friend not too long ago. I finished watching ten episodes in three days. He said I should read the book. I refused, at that time, for good reasons (when I’m addicted to something, I will neglect everything else. It’s almost like an overdriven obsession): exams are near, a major exam is in few months’ time, and there are other books to finish (such as War and Peace, Great Expectations, Oliver Twist, The World is Flat and three other half read books on the shelf: these books require a lot of spare time, and a lot of concentration).

In the bookstore, this box set of series for my friend was right next to A Song of Ice and Fire (the first four books). I could immediately hear the clanks and rings of swords clashing above my head. The Lannisters are evil; the Starks are noble. Poor Eddard was killed. I already know the story, I should wait patiently for the next series on TV. But books are always more detailed. But I’ve got exams, and medical books to read. But you can read these during your spare time. But I’ve been procrastinating. Well, that’s probably why you should read these books, you won’t procrastinate then, it’ll be a good use of time.

Next thing I knew, I was carrying two box sets out of the bookstore.

There are 700 odd pages in the first book: A Game of Thrones. I’ll finish this book by this weekend (hopefully) then I’ll start studying like mad for exams next week. Deal.

i’ll make this worth it.
