Quite the opposite of inspirational.

Still waiting for snow

All of a sudden, I’m feeling Christmas-y. Part of it had to do with the picture of snow in Edinburgh that Vanessa sent to me. How thoughtful.

I was sort of shocked to come back to Seremban to find an envelope containing a stack of christmas cards, made by this group of people called foot and mouth painters in Kuala Lumpur. The cards were empty, sent to me with a remittance letter that has a space for monetary contribution. I don’t remember giving out an address to anyone who does things like this and I definitely wouldn’t have given my address in Seremban because God knows how inexcusably bad I am at remembering more than one address. I do not appreciate being ambushed by this envelope, even though I tend to have a soft spot for all things charitable. Last night I bought two bracelets to donate to a charity that I’ve never heard of. It is a bad and stupid thing to do, giving out money just because people say it’s for charity. I should have a more discerning mind and be more keen in finding out how my contribution will help.

Now I don’t know what to do with this stack of cards. Using them means having to succumbed to this ambush. Not using them means having to throw them away, even though they are quite beautifully painted, to be honest.

Read an article on Mark Zuckerberg on BBC. I am still undecided on the one right word to describe him. Amongst the list are lucky, incredible, phenomenal, smart, or admirable. Sometimes, I would imagine that if it wasn’t him who invented Facebook, somebody would have invented something else similar but it probably wouldn’t be named Facebook. So it was a matter of luck, time, opportunity and people in one good combination. On the other hand, I think he deserves the wealth that he’s earned. Somebody else could have invented something similar, and that somebody could well be him. If you get my drift.

Then I stumbled upon this rather shocking but also hilarious (depending on your taste of humour, and level of imagination) video on BBC. The idea of it happening is quite ridiculous but it did, and that further confirms my belief that the chances of things going wrong with a flight (bad handling by the air traffic control, bad weather, bad baggage handling, bad take-off, bad landing etc) are significantly much higher than a flight being hijacked and blown up. And that reminds me of the 130ml extra baby johnson bath shampoo that I was disallowed to bring onboard. So unnecessary (the airport security’s confiscation).

Apart from feeling Christmas-y, I’m also feeling a bit instrumental. Also, epic instrumental music should be one of the categories in the Grammy.

Here come the EPIC ones. AWESOME!
